No longer thinking

I wrote something really similar to this over at DeviantArt, but I might as well just post this here as well.

My rabbit, Benny, died last night. It was bit sudden; he wasn't moving much yesterday morning, so I took him to the vet--where I found out that he had a blockage in his GI tract. He was probably in a lot of pain, and supposedly pain is very bad for rabbits, as they can go into shock easily from it.

Anyway, I heard back from the Vet around 10:00 or so this morning, saying that he didn't make it through the night.

So, that's kind of it it. His cage and everything has been cleaned up, and he's been buried, so it's almost like he wasn't even there at all, which makes it worse, almost.

He was only about seven, and he was just so perfectly fine until last Sunday...

I got my first rabbit when I was five or six. I remember being particularly uninformed about rabbits at the time, or how to even act with a pet other than a dog. Her name was Violet, and she started biting after awhile, so we got a new rabbit and let Violet run loose in the yard. If I remember correctly, she was probably out there for about a year, and then we took her to a park and let her go.

Yes, the cage was already cleaned up. I helped finish up the last of the stuff, and I was there for the burial. And it's fine to ask. It's been a week now, and I feel much better about it now, even though I was rather upset the first couple of days.

*hugs back* Thanks. And sorry I didn't get back to you sooner; I haven't had internet access for the past week or so.
